newsTour 2006 on Dec 17th, 2006 by Brad
Remember when Love Songs went on that US tour in July with This Is My Fist? Well, we finally got around to go through all the pictures, writing captions, making a video and writing reviews of each show (day) of trip. All of these things are now up on the site, six months later. Enjoy them as it took some effort to get it done.

newsSOTM on Dec 7th, 2006 by Brad
There's a brand-spanking-new SOTM available now. We know it's been months, well, actually we have nothing to do with it - just Craigums. So anyway, Craigums knows it has been months since he's had the opportunity to do some SOTM action. December is a good month, I guess. Enjoy it, it's the last one this year.

Speaking of lasts, Love Songs will be playing our last show.... of 2006! On Dec 31st at the Balazo18 Gallery for the second annual punk rock New Year's Eve party with La Plebe. We're excited to be playing again this NYE with them and if you don't already have some plays to watch a big ball drop in NYC, you should come to this show instead. More details on that to follow.

I forgot to upload the news page the other day so I never posted this. Here's Craig's Air Journal to check out. Sorry for the delay.

newsSome Shows on Sept 15th, 2006 by Brad
Alright, so Craig did not win in Finland. He made it to the second round and came in fifth or sixth place. If you missed the live broadcast there are a host of videos up on YouTube you can see. To cut to the chase, here's Craig during the first round. This is the guy that won in Finland. Also here is another hi-quality video from the New York show if you missed that one.

In other news, Love Songs is playing tomorrow at Hotel Utah. We've also got another show lined up for the end of this month at The Bottom Of The Hill.

Apparently Craig & Seth are working on making a tour diary from the US tour trip, so you'll get to read about that (and see some pictures too.) Contrary to what Seth posted in the Guestbook, Love Songs would like to encourage you to NOT keep your pants on.

Craig (aka: Hot Lixx Hulahan) is on the front page of the SF Chronicle today - and of course up on their website as well. Check it out for pictures and a nice article on the whole ordeal of being a U.S. Air Guitar Champion.

Thanks to everyone that came out (and stuck around) last night to see us play. Thanks to all of the bands as well - we all had a great time.

We've put a song up on our myspace page, so check that out if you haven't already picked up the new CD.

newsBehind Enemy Lines on Aug 3th, 2006 by Brad
behindYou might have noticed on the front page that we have a new CD out called BEHIND ENEMY LINES in G# Minor. We got them the day before we left on the tour, so those that saw the shows had a chance to buy them. We're back in town from tour and we've got the CDs for sale at shows and through this here website.

Check out the BEHIND ENEMY LINES in G# Minor sampler page for some samples of the new songs.

The price of the CD is $10ppd and you should know that the CD actually has a video on it. You can order the CD online now through our site or you can just come on out to the official CD release show on August 7th in SF.

Hello everyone,

newsMore On Hot Lixx Hulahan on May 26th, 2006 by Brad
Highlights from the US Air Guitar Championships Regional SF are on KTUV's website here. (Oddly enough I don't think Craig is in any of the clips.) Not to worry because Fecal Face has a video as well, that one actually shows some footage of Craig including him being announced as the winner. There are other shorter clips on YouTube here and here. Some photos are here. What you really wanna see though is his whole performance which is now available here (thanks to Josh.)

Update:
In case you missed it, here's an mp3 of Craig on KFOG (for Love Songs fans, there's a short clip of a song that's on our upcoming record.)

Pictures are up from last month and just last weekend. Check them out, although they don't really have funny captions.

In other news: when Craig is not busy moving into his new place, he's busy training for the Air Guitar semi-finals taking place next month in New York.

newsMagoo's No More on May 13th, 2006 by Brad
Sorry to hear that Maogo's is now run by a production company so the May 28th show with Young Lions will not be happening there. More about the whole thing can be read here.

Update:
Looks like the show might go on, just in another city at another venue. Confirmation will be coming shortly (hopefully) but it looks like the show will take place in San Francisco and Rad Times will be added. Sweet!

Hopefully we'll get some pictures up on the site soon enough. If you happen to have taken any, please feel free to email them over, as we'd love to see them.

For those of you who just can't get enough Love Songs and really want to read more about us, we're featured in Jethro's latest issue of Banzai. There's more to it than just the interview with us. For those of you who don't know, Jethro drew a good portion of the comic artwork for the All Branches CD as well as the "Foo" t-shirt design.

Banzai #3 is available for $3ppd US / $5ppd World. Money Orders or Well Hidden Cash payable to Jethro Wall / Trades welcome but PLEASE email first.

newsHealing Powers of Love Songs on January 12th, 2006 by Brad
We received this lovely message the other day from our Chicago-gone-San Francisco-gone-Miami friend Ryan Buck.

Greetings Love Songs, how are you collectively hanging? I just wanted to share with you all a recent story of how Love Songs again served to make someone smile, ease worry and thusly made the world a better place. (It's a tad long, sorry)

A friend of mine’s father is getting along in age, and with that, can and will come physical complications. Today, he is to undergo heart surgery, potentially resulting in the installation of a pace maker. My friend’s father is an age old Jewish man, who fancies himself a pretty stoic character. I spoke to my friend last night and he let me know things were progressing well, but that there is definitely a sense of deep concern cascading over his mother and, understandably, his father.

In preparation for a surgery such as this, various bodily tasks, both internal and external need to be completed. Among these tasks, is the nefarious (at least for a man in his 80’s) duty of shaving ones nether regions, is on the list. My friend’s father is relaying this information to his son and my friend, having been exposed to the almighty Love Songs and loving them unconditionally, thanks to his buddy Ryan, says to his father, “Well, now you’re going to have porn star nuts.” Not knowing how his parents are going to react to a statement such as this (by his own admission, they are exactly like Jerry Seinfeld’s parents on the TV show) he stands back a bit and waits. His parents, allowing a moment for this to sink in, burst out laughing hysterically, admitting to my friend that this is quite possibly the funniest thing they have ever heard in their 80 plus years on this planet. The fact that their last name is Granet almost completes the package…

My pal Bruce immediately tells his folks, now with lightened brows, that the inspiration from this comment comes from a wonderful band and their merry little ditty. These 80 plus year old Jews, immediately asked to hear the song. So, my dear friends in Love Songs, I am burning “IPSN Day”, Bruce is coming by the hotel to get it and shall share it with his father, Larry, who is about to have fairly serious heart surgery, because the levity will do him good. So, from Bruce and Larry Granet, I am to convey thanks, to the architects of the rock and roll epic “IPSN Day” for making a tough situation a little easier.

Update:
He came through the surgery just fine, and now, they are taking "IPSN Day" one step further. He goes home Friday and awaiting him will be a gathering of family. They are going to play the song, not just for the brave man with shorn goats, but so the WHOLE FAMILY can enjoy. An entire room full of crabby old folks are going to rock out to Love Songs. Oh to be a fly on the wall...

Your pal,

Redtooth Turnstyle (aka Ryan)
